THE ORIGINAL MUSIC
Here are some of the original songs written for the show, to complement the existing hit songs from the movie.
These 'original' numbers written by Robbie Roth, and are studio demo recordings, as there was no English language soundtrack recorded from the various versions of the show to date.
But these tracks give a sense of the style and calibre of the additional songs that have been written.
JUST OUT OF REACH - the first big solo number for protagonist Alex Owens, as she watches the ballet dancers through the windows of Pittsburgh's most prestigious dance school, the Shipley Academy.
PUT IT ON - girls ensemble number in the dressing room of the dance club. The dance girls explain that they are not like the stippers down the street, they dance for their art!
HERE AND NOW - duet between the Alex Owens and Nick Hurley the 2 leads. This number is at the end of their date, and prior to them spending the night togehter.
MY TURN - end of Act One ensemble number (prior to the Maniac reprise/water moment!).
CHAMELEON GIRLS - Current Act 2 opening number, in the rival bar where Gloria (Alex's friend) has been lured to work.
